Record Camera to my internal hard drive

Dear all,

I am wondering if I can install IP Camera (Dahua or HikVision) without NVR. And recording to my internal hard disk (desktop)

Yes but you will need to run the respective desktop firmware or blue iris.

It will only record when the computer is on so that means leaving it on 24/7

This is best done on a dedicated PVNVR/blue iris machine

This. You can install cameras & record to memory stick onboard the camera itself without a PC/NVR. But to record to hard drive you need appropriate software to do so. Blue Iris is most popular choice here & for good reason.
