Remote viewing Dahuas on Android?

Hey all what is everyone using to enable remote viewing of their Dahuas?

My Asus router provides a VPN and I can connect fine via http to the camera web ui but it seems gDMSS doesn't want to work over the VPN.

Asus RT-AC88U. I'm using the built in openvpn implementation.

gDMSS works fine over VPN for me; your feeding it a local IP right and not your external one.

Correct I'm using an internal 192.168.0.X IP address.

As I said I can access the cameras webpage just not the video. I wonder if perhaps I need to use a substream with a lower bit rate or something.

Oh man I'm two for two for epic fails.

I didn't restart my Windows machine and now I forgot Bout the perils of working on the Android OS -- stuff breaks! Good old Android Nougat works perfectly. Hurray!
