Good evening, Ive just received a few foscam fi9826p cameras, can i set them up for remote access... i think not.

The furthest ive got is being able to access my routers homepage remotely, i feel as though im close but just cant get my sky hub to redirect to the ipcam ip.

If anyone can comfort my in this time of need i would appreciate it. Ive set up port forwarding on the only open port 8080, and the firewall rules have been set, i think the problem may lie in the Inbound services ive set up heres what ive tried and get the router page everytime.

Id appreciate any guidance here, thankyou

it seems the sky hub is just not cut out for this...

forgot to add, locally the dyndns and ip works perfectly redirecting to the foscam camera.

fixed by allowing dmz, and turning remote management off
You should not have to dmz the camera...look at the manual for proper port forwarding instructions...
What are you using these cameras for? if for security there are much better options than foscam.

lol...

Turns out what i did was only a temp fix, i cancelled my dyndns tried to remotely connect today no success. So i re-registered for dyndns (only one sky hub allows)
and its not working.

Perhaps some guidance? Ive read manual, ive watched videos, ive scoured forums. im just not sure where the issue lies apart from my skill set.

I dmz'd the server, anyway its stopped working now. Yes security, im in no doubt there is better ones, perhaps suggest a few? But thats what ive got unfortunately.

Haha... this is the kind of post that hurts @nayr to see.
I know this has probs been asked and answered millions of times however, i cannot find any with my hardware setup and my issue.

fixed it again. seems to be an issue with the order you input information. For the record. Sky Hub - Lan Ip reservation then Port forward under services - then inbound firewall

I would first recommend you look at this website and see if they have specific instructions for your router - http://portforward.com/

Then I would use something like this to check that the work you are doing is in fact opening ports like you think it should be - http://www.canyouseeme.org/

In the end, you may have blocks in place by your ISP for the ports you are trying to use. And one last final thought, please don't place anything in a DMZ for any extended period of time unless you truly know what that means and the consequences of doing so.

Thankyou for the advice about the DMZ, i unchecked it just now and it wasnt effecting the remote viewing at all anyway. Im pleased i posted here now for that advice alone.

However... I tried the method i tried earlier today three times which worked, again just now, and it didnt work, the ports were not opened. It makes no sense why it would work at one point then not another...

I reread your original post and noticed you have a "few" cameras. Do you have each of these cameras configured with a different port for access? They need to be on different ports to avoid any IP conflict.
