Is there a way to remove the highlights from a video while it is still in BI? I would like to see what motion it is seeing, but in the final video have it removed.

There is no direct way to do this...here are two workarounds
1) record direct to disc (you will loose the time and date overlay in the recording-unless you add it when exporting)...this will show the highlights but not record them..
2) set up a cloned duplicate camera just to display the motion highlight...(you can hide the recording camera so you dont see two cameras on the screen)
