Removing Smart plan from one camera and adding to another on the nvr

On the 2 cameras without IVS (perimeter protection) you should be able to instead run SMD concurrently with the other 6 running IVS

No smart plan needed for SMD

It’s not as good as IVS but it’s something.
To enable it on the camera, turn on regular MD, then separately turn on SMD

Because you initially set those smart plans in the NVR, you may need to delete 6 on the NVR as well.

This is the problem with using the NVR to make settings/changes that are available on the camera. Intuition and the directions tells you they synch perfectly, in real life not so much.

And because not all features and controls for the camera are available in the NVR, you won’t even see/know about some until you log into the camera and set it there.

The NVR simply can’t keep up with all of the various features of the hundreds of models and features on cameras, thus, ALWAYS make your settings on the camera itself.

I know it is a pain, but personally I would factory reset the NVR and set up again to ensure you don't have some left over setting done in the NVR screwing everything up.

Or at the very least delete each camera from the NVR and let it show back up.

Not bad advice.

Really on the NVR (Non-AI models like yours) all you're setting is the record schedule and time and maybe email for alerts. Not too much work to factory default it.

First of all, thanks for all your inputs, really appreciate it.

Secondly, I've gone back to each camera and redrew the rules.
I was able to trigger all 8 intrusion rules and get a notification on the mobile app.
I cant explain this as I was expecting at least 2 to not get reported/notified.

But I m happy it works and having both tripwire and intrusion on different schedules means I can turn on/off the notifications via the mobile app as I please.
It seems I don't need to use SMD or "move" one of the Smart plans to another channel at this moment.

Thanks so much

Are all 8 actually recording the event on the NVR? Odd it would specify 6 and record 8

I was surprised as well but I checked in the "i" (under details) button from the screenshot below and all 8 channels have an entry when I was doing my rounds.
So both the log and the mobile notifications are accurate

Yes the notifications are working, that's independent from actually recording the events on the HD

Can you see the events clips on playback? Do they appear on the 2 cameras in AI search?

Yup , you were right. There are 2 channels missing from the AI search.
It will have to do for now since the notifications are going through and in case of an incident I ll have to check the timeline manually to see what happened.
And in the future, we'll upgrade to something that is a little more capable
