Removing the Dome

So I have an outdoor Hikvision camera. I have it installed under an eve. Would removing the dome damage the camera in anyway? I don't need it to be vandal proof as it is on the 2nd floor.........

Yes, the internals of the dome cameras are not designed to be exposed to the weather. Is there a specific reason to remove the dome ?

Presumably the night-time image. A frequent topic here for dome cameras.

Try a search for 'IR bleed' as well.

Make sure the foam ring is pulled out, and the dome is clean. I had some IR bleed. I can honestly can see no difference in the image quality when removing the dome from mine. Day or night.

if the dome is scratched rotate it also. there should be no difference.
