System logs are showing a fan inside my Axis Q6125-LE has failed.

Is it possible for a (technically competent) user to replace this fan? Any idea what size/model it is, and any advice?

Anyone? Alternatively, is there a better suited forum where I should ask this?
There are literally several hundred fans when you consider size, RPM, CFM, noise rating, voltage, etc. and even if I have the exact make/model of NVR as you there's a slight possibility of ours being different.

The best and surest way is to unplaug and disconnect power to the NVR, open it up and, if you have to, remove the fan to determine the brand and model number that should allow you to determine what you can replace it with that has the same ratings in case you cannot find the exact fan as a replacement.

NOTE: although all the ratings are important, if you get the same size, voltage, RPM and CFM (volume of air moved), if you fail to match the sound rating you may be disappointed especially if the NVR is located in a entertainment center, bedroom, etc. if it's noisier than the original.

FWIW, if you can't wait for at least 24 hours for a response perhaps there is a "better suited forum" for your question.

Thanks. Fair point, didn't mean to be impatient. I was just hoping someone might be familiar with this model and know the size/voltage/specs of the replacement fan I need to order or could point me to a datasheet. The camera is high up on a pole and difficult to access, I'd like to get the part in advance to minimize downtime and trips up there.

Do you happen to know if the fan is at least accessible upon removing the dome, or if further disassembly is required?

I wish Axis had a decent diagram of the internals. (I remember when appliances used to come with full electrical schematics and miss those days)

My bad, I recall yesterday looking into this when I was aware it's a camera, not a NVR, and found nothing. We have quite a few threads on noisy NVR fan retrofits.

Twelve hours later it's apparent this chemotherapy has turned my brain to mush.:screwy:

Replaced a good few fans in my PTZ cameras over the years. One of my Samsung cameras was hard to find the right fan and I had to install one that was the right voltage and seized squared but where I had an issue was the fan in my case had a very small depth and seeing the fan was smaller then 1in square and depth was less then or slightly larger then 1/8 in and couldn't find one.. So found one that was correct width using Digital Caliper to make sure it would mount but the depth was almost 2 times the size and so I ordered it. I then cut out some foam to test the size to see if I could get it to fit in this camera seeing it was such a tight space I wanted to make sure that it would fit.. Taking some acrylic paint to see if it would transfer to the case with same sized foam installed to case when I put the camera back in the housing seeing it was a Mini PTZ no way to know.. after doing this no transfer so I have that camera working with this fan mounted in it still today.

So what is going to need to be done seeing most cases the Fan in your camera would only be good for your build site and date code. So meaning camera in a different build date might have different sourced fans while the size might be the same the info on the fan might be different.. So best to take the camera apart and get the data off the cameras fan.. Need to know the voltage and current that is required. Then find one that has same size voltage and current draw. As you can see in the picture of the one from my camera is 12v 0.07a the one put in was 12v 0.12a and that is fine. Just don't want to have a 12v 0.33a and put in a 12v 0.12a as it will burn out your fan much faster then expected.

Is your cameras fan making noise? I mean my cameras have fan replace built into the software, I am not saying you should ever ignore your cameras fan life warning. But I will admit that one of my cameras I did reset the counter and didn't replace fan it still working and fan is fine. Now in that case it's on Auto and don't run full time the other camera was noisy even though old one looks new and runs full time. Now that I don't need this fan I can find them in the right size all day. Also depends on your cameras fan placement depth might not matter for your camera most of my larger ptz fans it would matter as long as the mounting holes line up. I know one of mine the mount is strange so could have little more depth but not 1/8" more.
