Replacing Old System, Optiplex or Build

I recently had a geovision system that I had built a few years ago go down at my place of business. I have not been satisfied lately with the quality of the camera output and have been thinking about switching to ip cameras.

I have decided to switch to a blue iris system as I do not think the geovision ip solution is worth the price they are charging and there are only 1 or 2 analog cameras that I might consider keeping and will replace the 7 existing cameras and may add a few more.

My question is whether I should upgrade the existing computer (have around 5 terabytes of hard drives and a good case) or buy an optiplex. I was pricing out the options and found newegg has a i7-7700 cpu/MB combo for around $350 and the cheapest optiplex I could find with the same cpu was around $700.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Dell Precision T3620 Workstation MT 7th Gen i7-7700/16GB/500GB/Win10 Pro/Warrant | eBay
the precision will have room for at least 2 3.5 disks...they can be found even lower at the dell outlet...around 600-700 depending on sale...3 year next business say warranty..
HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Intel Core i7-7700 8GB 1TB, Black (Refurbished) | eBay

350 will get you a mobo and cpu, what about the OS, memory, power supply case, etc...
You can find the 6700 systems for 400 , so they are a much better value...

Yeah, 6th and 7th generation are practically the same architecture so there is only an extremely small difference in performance.
