I’m looking for a full SPI flash dump (.bin) for a DVR device with the following specifications:

  • Model: HD DVR LI-5104-H
  • Chipset: HiSilicon Hi3520D
  • Board Version: V325P_TVI04
  • Flash Size: 16MB (MX25L128XX)
  • Channels: 4CH
  • Encoding: H.264
  • Issue: Device no longer boots; terminal only shows empty lines and prompt. U-Boot is accessible via UART.
  • Tools: I have access to SPI programmer and can flash the chip directly.

If anyone has a verified working dump (kernel + rootfs or full 16MB image), I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you very much for your valuable guidance regarding the device file. Your support helped me better understand the process, and I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into assisting me. It made a real difference.

Damn i wish my exwife or any of my kids/grandkids would send me a thank you for all the things i've done for them. - PS i love to see random installs, so send a picture or two when you have time. It helps expand my limited knowledge base. :)

How are you trying to program this? I mean SPI and reflash? Did you DL what was on the chip before and make a backup? When you flash without using a direct Flash dump there are things that are needed so you can add the files back in the right order and with the correct data.

If you happen to have a FW package some times you can use Linux to extract the package files you need to make the device work again but would need to see the FW and confirm that the data needed is in the firmware package. Then could be that there is enough data from your backup and the good FW package to compile and get a good flash back to the chip.

I don’t have a backup of the original flash, unfortunately. I’m directly programming the chip using an SPI programmer. The chipset in my DVR is JI3520D (which I believe is equivalent or similar to Hi3520D), but the firmware I flashed was for the HI3520DV300.

That might be the issue — I’m guessing the firmware isn’t fully compatible with the hardware, which could be why the device isn’t booting. I’m now looking for a matching or original firmware specifically for JI3520D or Hi3520D.

If you have any advice on how to recover or build a working flash image from a firmware package or similar board, I’d appreciate it.
