[RESOLVED] Can I put tape over the 'ring' bezel around my Amcrest camera?

I'm pretty sure this is just for looks and not used by the camera in any way?
I want to put white electrical tape over the thick black "ring" around the camera lens.
To make the camera blend in better with the white background it sits in front of.
To make the camera less conspicuous.

That is where the infrared is, so if you don't use that go for it.

I do want to retain low light capabilities. So, I'll leave it alone.
