Review-Dahua 4mp SD22404T-GN 4x Mini PTZ Speed Dome

BI cannot SET the presets. you do that in the cam interface. BI can CALL the presets, tho. and can do so on a schedule or based on events, etc...

Many thanks to @actran and @looney2ns. How are PTZ "pre-sets" handled within the BI console?

In my first screenshot above, you can select a preset by clicking 1,2,3, etc... or via drop-down.

I'm not sure how to set a PTZ preset in BI console.

If you use UI3, @bp2008 makes it real easy to set a preset, and also to select preset(s) as well.

FYI, I rarely use BI console. UI3 is what I use day-2-day. And especially with UI3 keyboard shortcuts, it's just faster too.

You can set the presets with BI and also with UI3.
Place the cam at the view you want, in BI, press for example the #1 for a few seconds.
UI3 works same basic way.
This is discussed in both the BI help file, and in the BI video tutorials.

Can you guys tell me how to use scripting to control my Dahua PTZ camera...something like this?...

If Cam1 is triggered by motion the the PTZ goes to preset #4
If Cam2 is triggered by motion the the PTZ goes to preset #7
If Cam3 is triggered by motion the the PTZ goes to preset #5

@pozzello answer is correct.

In my case, since I want to define more complex if-then conditions, I send all camera motion events to my home automation (Vera). There I can define a scene to set my PTZ to the desired preset.

The home automation scene(s) can take into account other sensors that are more accurate (no or rare false alarms).

sure, an external home controller can apply arbitrary logic, if that's what you need.
I thought you were asking about BI, which does support some basic functionality for that.
try it out, and if it works, great, if not, there are other (more involved) options...

So I would image something like this isn’t possible within Blue Iris, but is there an external scripting language that is supported by BI?...

If Cam1 is triggered by motion then PTZ goes to preset #4
Wait 5 seconds
Go to preset #7
Wait 5 seconds
Go to preset #4
Wait 5 seconds
End

BI does have a JSON interface that allows external things to interact with it. I have no idea how current this document is, but the PTZ section looks like it lets you point a camera to presets.

Which is the model number for the Starlight? I can't find that Ti version, that you guys are talking about.

Thanks.
This model is brand new? Only Andy sells it?

I have this camera, and it functions just like a 5231 with PTZ added, but no IR. I bought this a couple of weeks ago, have it mounted and functioning, but right now don't have the time to do a full review. It is currently mounted in an area that has about half IR external lighting only. The darker area still has very good night time picture quality.

Yes, Andy sells it and I bought it on his Amazon store. I did ship from HK to the US, and was delivered in 3 days.
