Why yes, yes there is, in the summertime anyways.
Each time that I get the time to do something with a camera, mother nature has other ideas. Been a VERY wet spring here.
It's not just you. When I got the 5631 to do a review awhile ago, we basically had back-to-back tropical storms for almost a month. It was like Hikvision was controlling the weather or something.

They might be. I saw a youtube video from schezyaun where they talked about their research into climatology/weather control. It stated that the gov't was doubling their budget for 2019-20.
Thanks to @looney2ns hardworking on the testing, he always try his best to finish the review in details, good or bad, that is why we always can bring the best cams to all members here.

Hopefully will get some better night shots of plates tonight.
I'm assuming you need a capable Dahua NVR to see the metadata. I've not found a way to view it in the interface.
The four stills were recorded to the cams sd card, automagically by the cam.

Do you have to draw the specific region to where you want the face detection magic to take the shot as I see from the first image you have a green box

You can see the meta data when viewing live in the web interface, with the plugin installed.

Nah, I think the cam is just senior shaming me by adding the beard.
@looney2ns when you are free, please share us some video for LPR reading? I am thinking to replace IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E with this new one.
