What kind of boxes can be used for install in new construction? Stud walls, sheetrock. We have some of the metal boxes, they work great for surface mount. Is there a plastic nail on type box that the Dahua camera flange plate can attach too?

you could always use a metal 4x4 and use a stainless steel blank cover and mount the camera to that. I use a unibit to make a hole for the cable and connector. I bought a box of assorted rubber grommets to protect the wire from the sharp edge of the hole. I always use staineless steel bolts and nuts tofasten the camera to the plate

That could work. Are there any boxes that use the 3 hole mounting pattern of the Dahua flange plate?
I really have never seen any that you would install in the rough in stage. I always use a 4x4 metal box. I mostly do commercial work.for residential you could just have the drywaller bring out the cable right next to the stud so you have something solid to mount the camera to. I would take a piece of cardboard a few inches wide and staple it to the studs and poke a hole for the cable and write on with a marker. PLEASE BRING WIRE THROUGH DRYWALL. sometimes this works and they poke out the wire. I did this on a huge residential security, audio, networking system and I think I spent 2 weeks digging out buried wires. pretty sure the drywallers could not read or just didnt give a shit. well I got real tired of fishing wire out of a 1/2 inch hole so I just got out the sawzall and made some nice big holes I could stick my arm in. The contractor was fine with it
Those boxes are surface mount, I think he is looking for a rough in box that would be nailed to a stud before sheet rock is installed.

I'd just nail/screw a single gang, 1/2", mud ring to the stud prior to sheetrock being hung. They'll treat that like a regular outlet and cut it out appropriately even if they can't read.
