Hi all,

quick story ; I was running my BI instance in a VM on my poweredge server (with xeon cpu) since +- 1.5year.
I decided today to move my instance on my main desktop, that 24h/day and has a good GPU.

First reaction is a good improvment on the responsiveness of my BI instance.
But since I did that, I am facing out a weird problem.

I have 5 cams ; 3 wyze cam getting from RTSP, 1 Reolink getting feed from http and 1 old Trendnet getting feed from http.
My problem is with the 3 wyze cam.
All cams run smootly for 20-25 minutes, then, my RTSP stream goes down in/out randomly on all cam until getting a point that it never reconnect.

I read some thread about Bitdefender and RTSP...but did find any that is specific to my situation.
What I did in Bitdefender is the following :
  • Add antivirus exception to prevent scanning on the BI working folders
  • Add exception on all the IP of my 3 RTSP cam
  • Rename the httpproxy.dll to httpproxy,dllx

The last step I did was the rename of httpproxy, and while I am writing this thread, all my feed are stable.

My next step is to completely uninstall bitdefender, but this is my last resort. I would like to keep it because I decided to use this software for all my computers at home.

I am curious if someone got this kind of problem ?

thanks

I run Bitdefender Free Edition (always favored Bitdefender for the last 10+years). No issues with Blue Iris or any RTSP feeds at all. I do have issue with Bitdefender blocking my Ubiquiti UI login screen though. Gotta uncheck the full time protection temporarily.

Thanks for your feedback. For now, since my last "hack" (Httpproxy.dll change) (10 hours ago), my RTSP feeds are running good.
Just the standard Wyze RTSP drop connection (+- 1 by hour). I will continue to monitor it and if I still have problem will try to disable full time protection.
My guess is that maybe Bitdefender Total Security has extra things that Free Edition do not have ?
Well thanks again

on bitdefender, open the interface and go to notifications. If Bitdefender is blocking an address it will show up as "suspicious connection blocked" open that up and there will be an add exception rule. Add it for that address.
That will then allow access to unifi etc etc
