Ok so I got everything working as I like.. however when I enable run as a windows service my external hard drive that's hooked to my router is not detected ( see picture #1 )

When I disable run as a windows service it works fine ( see picture #2 )

How am I able to run as a service and it well detect my hard drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You probably have NTFS permissions on the drive that don't grant SYSTEM full control.

shalem2014 correct thinking but not a local drive, its a remote disk (think NAS) drive so it's likely a CIFS/NFS share permissions.

the account which is attempting to start BI as a service does not have valid credentials on your router to access the (shared) external drive.

on the router add an authorized account to access the proper drive/file location(s) that matches the BI service username and password.
