Getting the hang of it

Trying to put my license plate cameras in my mailbox.
Was wondering the best way to get the cable outside to the mailbox.
I was thinking I could use basic Cat6 and run it through a PVC pipe under the front lawn to the mailbox.
But I didn't know what would happen if that pipe got water in it...
Didn't know if I should get cable rated for outdoor but that can get expensive. I also already have the cable run through the house/walls and ready to go outside.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The pipe WILL get water in it. Use outdoor rated cable.

Insure solid copper, not CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum).

Its not that much more expensive.
You're so right.....and if you have to re-pull with the correct cable in a few years the difference gap in price between the two closes VERY quickly, not to mention having the issues or outages until you do.

Use outdoor cable IF you will run the cable above ground - It is rated for minimum UV degradation.
However, if you are going to bury it, use IN GROUND DIRECT BURIAL cable that has a gel fill.

I don't know how it will last, but if the underground run is less than 100 ft, I use garden hose with the ends protected.
