Solution found: My POE switch was not POE+.

I got a new SD49225T-HN(Thanks Andy!) that is displaying the following problem:
1. When I power it on, it pans 360 degrees.
2. It never tilts.
3. It responds to about 4 pings on the default IP address.
4. It goes back to step #1.

I'm wondering if I got a broken camera from the factory. Andy suggested I hit the reset button, but even after taking the top off the camera I don't see where that is.(It looks nothing like the picture) I hesitate to disassemble random parts of the camera until I find the reset button. Disassembling around the pan-tilt area seems like it could go awfully wrong if I take out the wrong screw and sending a whole bag of parts back to China doesn't seem awesome.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The other cameras I got are working 100%.

Has anyone seen a camera do this before? To me it looks like it's failing some sort of internal test and rebooting continuously.

most likely you are not powering it correctly..what are you using?

I'm utilizing the same switchport & cable that successfully powered the other two cameras I received: HFW5231E-Z5, HDW5231R-ZE. Both of those cameras are now successfully running on other ports with much longer cables. The switch is a Netgear GS110TP which supports "POE+".

upload_2017-12-21_14-13-24.pngthis is the reset button, try to get a 12V 3A adapter to power it, there has some clients also meet this problem, and lastly found the power not enough.

That switch is not a POE+ switch....problem solved.
Also ensure your cable is wired to the 568 standard...otherwise it wont work properly.

The 12V power adapter worked, so it does indeed look like a power problem.(Thanks Andy!!) I'll order a new switch tonight, which should fix everything. I found a spec sheet for the switch suggesting it should support POE+, but it looks like I found another suggesting it doesn't. Seems to work fine for the other cameras, which made me assume it should work fine for this one. Oops!

I have 2 of the GS110TP. It's not a POE+ switch.

sounds like the problem i am having after upgrading. The cam come on, ping for a minute on the old IP the appears to reboot ever minute or so. Im unable to get to the web page, and pressing the reset button does not rest the camera.

frustrating that the reset button isn't 100% fullproof.

Any other way to reset ot reflash the camera from sdcard?
