Hello to everyone here and Thank You in advance for taking time to assist me in this Matter.

I am new to all of this and in this short amount of time I am learning the language of POE, LAN, IP's, Switch, ipconfig/all and all the other extra wording for how all of this works in establishing a Set-up of Security Cam

Background, I have No Wifi-Internet connection at all (other then the Hotspot off my phone) and plan on keeping it this way to come for a very long time. However, I would like to establish a Home Security System of Cams without the use of Wifi-Internet. In my research if this was capable of being done, I came across a post of a member here on ipcamtalk in Googling if this was capable. He explained in his response . . . it was more then capable of being done

In the last few days I have been going through the process of trying to set up my cameras ( 2x Reolink RLC 410) to Blue Iris - BI Full Version Software and have yet to have any success in establishing any connection with cam's after hrs of attempt after attempt

Needless to say, i have yet to figure out as to why there is no connection as of yet or in the process setting things up, what am l not doing correctly in inputting #'s . . .ie: IP addresses, LAN, Ports and Cameras IPs of which i have both now, Cameras IP's

What is it that I am not doing correctly in setting this up, as well as to what in particular do i have to do when connecting Cams up with BI . . . as in entering the right numbers and or other specific information?

My Computer is a Envy running on Windows 8.1 64bit - Intel 5i - 8ram - Samsung 850 Pro SSD - GT730 4gb GDDR3 128 bit graphic card

My Camera setup consist of 2x Reolink RLC 410's, Netgear 5port POE Switch, 3 CAT6 Ethernet Cables 25' each and a Full Version of Blue Iris

Your Assistance in this Matter would be Greatly Appreciated

Right off the bat...is it possible to return the Reolink cams? They have known issues with Blue Iris.

Yes, that is still a possibility of . . . just hope i can resolve this matter without having to go down that route, yet
why? the cameras are crap and the company is a lying sack of garbage. Your issue is not related to the cameras themselves but why bother with these cams?

As stated, i have that possibility of and for the moment I will work with what i have at present

Update : I seem to have the Cameras connected with Blue Iris . . . but, their are pink and purple bars displaying. Not the original color bars in the beginning

you can lead a horse to water...

I understand what you're trying to do and wanting to use the products that you purchased, but the cameras that you are trying to use really are not good. You would be better off returning them and purchasing any of the well know and used Dahua Starlight cameras.

Hi LMATA13K,

Have you thought of taking it all back to basics?

Plug you computer into the Netgear switch and give your computer a static IP address of 192.168.1.101 with the subnet of 255.255.255.0 for example.

Plug your camera into the same switch and use the Reolink software to search for the camera and IP address you will need to change the IP address of the camera to match your range on the PC.

Use an internet browser and enter the cameras IP address, you should get a login page. Enter the username and password if all goes well you should have a working camera.

Now from within BI add a new camera and choose either Reolink and try the different models in the list or generic, Don't forget to add your username and password.

If that doesn't work report back.
