Just my view but if it were me I’d be looking at a minimum of an i5-6500 as from that gen onwards there is support for H265 and the extra CPU power will hopefully give you some extra headroom.
Thanks. Wasn't aware that it doesn't do hardware acceleration. Are there a list of what CPUs actually have HA?

But the substreams make it a lot more possible. A member here is using a 4th generation Intel device with 50 cameras and is in the 30% CPU usage. Just run H264 and you have HA, you just would not for H265.

In my experience, H265 hasn't resulted in the theoretical savings. Many members here have posted a real world less than 10% storage savings... Mine was literally within minutes difference, so I stayed with H265 as I personally felt the quality looked better.

How about this? He sent me pictures and it looks new. $175 if I go get it and $200 to ship. He's around an hour away.

If the 800 G2 SFF is the same inside as my 600 G2 then you fit 2 internal full size hard disks which for me is an extra bonus.

He did verify that it can take 2 full size hard drives and the SSD. Even has the Win 10 Pro license sticker on the case. I plan on using it with my 2 4k and 2 2MP cameras right now.
I plan on replacing the 2 4k Camera with a Loryta SD49225XA-HNR eventually. Is the 8GB ram enough or should I upgrade to 16GB?

I LOVE computer RAM, so the more the better. More RAM = a more quicker/responsive computer exp. overall.

but since this is a computer you shall be using very minimal (checking video footage) you might can get away with 8gb. (People recommend 8gb on this website)

I will always opt for more ram, but its def. not necessary.

How much to upgrade the ram?

If the seller will install it for you for an additional $20-$30. (If less, definitely hop on it.)

Id take it. 8GB DDR4 ram on ebay is going for about $20-30 right now.

Just make sure it's not a model with soldered ram. One of the issues with some business machines is components such as CPU / RAM are sometimes soldered direct to the motherboard instead of in socketed holders. It's one way they keep the price down and one reason I dislike business machines.

I’ve seen this with some ultra portable laptops but didn’t know it was even a thing with Corp desktops.

Picked up the 800 G2 and it looks exactly how the guy said it did. Looks brand new inside and out with a Win10 pro license sticker on the side.
