So I just downloaded SmartPSS lite, installed fine, went to manually add my NVR log in credentials (IP) on the devices tab and go to connect but it always fails to connect.

User does not exist is error I get on the online status.

This is false as I've checked all credentials many times. I am on the same LAN as the NVR, same wifi.

I can use these same credentials to log in just fine on the actual NVR.

Stumped as to why I can't connect.

Well I have an M4 chip so are you saying SmartPSS won't work for me?

I was adding the NVR by the IP, not using the SN. Not sure if that matters.

Chat GPT or AI is where i looked

smartPSS Lite runs pretty well under Wine on Linux. I wonder if it would work with Wine on MacOS? The M4 chip certainly makes it less likely, but something called Rosetta supposedly built into the mac lets it run x86 code. Just thinking out loud. It could work, or turn into a big time rathole.

Update to my original problem here. This time I tried using the main Admin account instead of the 2nd admin account that I set up and what do you know it works. I have no idea, can't explain it, makes no sense why it would work now? It takes like 2 mins for it to actually start but it does work.

Now if I could only find a good way to log into the web gui's for the cameras. Everyone says to use Pale Moon 32 but I cannot find that. Would like a trustworthy place to get it from.
