I was able to get my DS-2CD2332-I (running the latest 5.3.0 firmware) to work with samba shares that have EXT4 partitions after fiddling with some barely comprehensible folder permissions settings on the Linksys WRT1200AC interface. Maybe things will be less prone to file system corruption with EXT4?

I'm going to need to find a router to practice OpenWRT and very basic linux tasks on before I flash the firmware on my main router with OpenWRT. It's amusing that the stock firmware on this router runs a fork of the OpenWRT, but completely locks the user from a terminal or anything beyond the very basics.
