Solution for fixing IR filter stuck?

My mini dome IR filter is stuck. I can open it up and tap on the eyball as I'm cycling through the day/night and it would come free and work for a day or two then get stuck again.

The filter in built into the eyeball so i'd have to unscrew the socket to get to it. Is there anything that I can do to make it move more freely?

I had a stuck filter. Fixed it. It's still working, 2.5 years later.
