SOLVED: Dahua Cam: Recording to SD card doesn't work. Why?

Do you use an SD card in your camera? (if your cam has an SD slot)

Hi there, I see this post now ... and I ahev the same issues with SD card support on my Dahua Camera.
I have an IPC-EBW81200 and an SD card inserted, but after some time of recording, the SD card is just not recognized anymore.

... I am still looking for a solution to "reset" the camera completely.
Tried to reinstall a firmware, but this doesn't reset the camera to factory settings.

... and I do not really want to dis-mount the camera from the wall to check this now ...

there's a WebUI button to perform a factory reset..

Hello,

I'm having a problem with my HDBW4431R-ZS

I have mounted a Samsung SD card and it formats and displays capacity using the cameras webUI but it doesn't seem to record anything on it? (I.e. I have taken the card out and plugged it into computer)

I have the local record boxes checked like in the above post by Fastb

I am also having firmware issues with the camera as it has a habit of dropping the assigned IP and displaying garbage (according to the config tool) the only way around this is to reset the camera via 10 seconds on the button then plugging back into NVR to re-assign

muddypuddle,

I don't have hikvision, but I'll toss out a few hunches:
- Make sure the "schedule" is set to record during those times
- make sure the event type to trigger a recording is set.

For your cam suspected f/w issues, I'd suggest starting a thread in the hik forum...

Good luck!
Fastb

I have finally got my SD card to start working (by doing nothing new) but it creates lots of DAV files, they range from 1 - a few Meg - so really 1 min and under

Is there a setting I'm missing or is it just a part of the dodgy firmware?

are you only recording on events or did you schedule recording continuously?

it is set to continuous

I have just tried to mount the camera under the eaves and was working but then I hit auto focus and the camera has now gone dead AGAIN

the firmware is obviously faulty

the camera is total garbage

and I cant keep taking it apart to press reset every time it goes faulty so its going back

actually its pretty obvious the cabling is faulty, given the symptoms you just described it was unable to meet the power requirements when the motors fired up.

I doubt it because I've used 3 different cables and just unpacked a brand new one for mounting it

I haven't had any problems with the turret, I'm thinking I should just mount that instead
