Sometimes (quite often actually), I can't view recorded clips in the mobile android app.
It does not play; empty blueiris app screen.

I think that happens if BI is still recording (i.e. motion detection still occurring)
Is it normal?

its normal if you are recording to any format other than BVR. You should be recording to BVR, its most efficient and allows you to view a clip while its still open.
 
i am recording with BVR and direct to disk.

One thing I also notice, when viewing the latest clip on my pc, it very often freezes for 5-10seconds before displaying the clip
 
So you're not actually missing any footage when you say it freezes 5-10 seconds before displaying a clip?
 
Post a screenshot of your record tab setting... Also what is your CPU consumption
