Blue Iris 3 used to record sound on my motion-detection video clips. Sometime in the last 2 weeks, it stopped doing so, for all 4 cameras. I have made no changes to the BI software. There were two automatic Windows updates that were installed on my hardware in the last week. Could that have caused the problem somehow? Anything I can try before I try "going back" to an earlier time on the computer? I've already tried basics such as restarting; reviewing all the BI options; ensuring speakers are on and working, etc.

Thanks for bringing up this issue Mike. I recognized the same problem a few days ago. I always updated BI4 x64 and Win7 x64 as soon as updates were available.

Does sound play at all in the live view? What cameras are you using?

I apologise. It works fine now. I didn't change anything.
Don't know why the sound was missing for a few days.
It only seemed to affect the clips, not the live view.

Camera type is Logitech HD Webcam C615
Sometimes i have issues with the logitech camera driver.
I have two Logitech cameras on the same PC.
My second Logitech Camera is QuickCam Pro 9000

Sometimes the sound stream gets mixed up between the two cameras.
Sometimes I get bluescreens which are clearly related to the Logitech driver.

None of my cameras are working for audio. Either in live view or recorded. They are all Foscams. I can understand one or maybe two going dead (for audio) all at once, but not four of them.

Go to blue iris options >audio in the output section for device, set it to not specified...if its already set to not specified then try it with the other options.

How about that? Changing to "not specified" worked!

Much obliged, Fenderman!
