I'm working on a project that entails standing up a VMS server running exacq Vision VMS with targeted 200TB of usable disk storage.
Per vendor's recommendations we're going to go with RAID6 and WD 18TB Purple 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Surveillance drives.
Before I fork out 9K for the drives alone I'd wanted to check if there are compatible storage alternatives out there given today's market. I keep reading about storage prices coming back to earth soon.

FWIW, I sourced the drives from a trusted U.S. reseller.
By chance, I looked at the individual drive and it has printed in bold letters that drives are for sale and warrantied in China only!?!
Not sure what to make of it.
I contacted the reseller and I'm yet to get an explanation.

Quite the label... UK, Thailand, France... for a China only item.

Smart choice on your part, get answers before breaking the seal on those esd bags
