For an OS drive your standard size 120GB drive will be plenty

Buy a 256 the price difference is negligible buy a reliable brand like Intel crucial Samsung. Note that the small form-factor Dell does not have a slot for an additional Drive you will need to use double-sided velcro and mailed it to the chassis inside bottom

I've had real good luck with the Samsung Pro drives (personally have them in 2 mac book pro's and 2 Windows Desktops as OS drives). I've also used some of the Samsung EVO drives as well with no issues (they are what are typically on sale/in the sunday Ad's)

Likewise, I've good luck here with Samsung, not as good with Crucial (at least one failure, maybe two, I forget).

The SFF 7040 I got had a 2.5" 1TB drive in it. There was a blue plastic HDD mount that I could mount the SSD to the other side. When i pick up a Purple WD I will have to re mount the SSD somewhere but in the mean time it fits pretty nicely.

Although I know I should be using a WD Puprle drive how much damage can i do to this 1 TB drive i have here now by using it as the 'direct to disk' drive.

I have a 64 gb ssd, and its fine for windows 10 and BI. Plenty of room because I hardly have anything else on it.
I have a 4tb purple for recording.
