Hoping someone on the board can help. I am installing cameras as several remote locations. So far I have installed two Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I cameras and can access the live video stream via VLC with rtsp://IPADDRESS
ORT/live and they work perfect!
I just installed a third camera at a remote location. I had the IT personnel onsite open up the assigned ports and setup port forwarding for HTTP traffic and RTSP traffic. When I access the admin page and use the Live View, I can see the camera's video without problem. When I try to access the video stream via RTSP and VLC, VLC is either locking up or it is showing that it is connected and playing, but showing no video. When I look at the details of the stream, the bitrate is very small (less than 200k). I have the bitrate set at 600k.
I can also access the still image URL and it is working correctly, but that is going over the HTTP port.
I have tried to access the camera from two internet connections to see if that works. No luck.
I'm stumped! Any ideas?
