Suggestions for Camera Setup at Subdivision Pool \ rec area

That's pretty cheap. I didn't consider Wi-Fi just because so many people say it is a no-no for sec cams all the time here plus the added complexity and possible connectivity issues but sounds like it is worth considering. I'll have to check out the club house to see if there is any place to locate it.
So I'd basically need to price out, NVR, (monitor\m,kb),HDD(s), cams, the Nanos and a POE switch for the cams & pavilion Nano, CAT-5? Am I missing anything?
 
Once again, a dedicated RF link is not WiFi. It is designed to be point to point with a narrowly focused RF pattern specifically to maintain connectivity. I have a pair supporting four cameras in a shed about 80 feet apart. Zero connectivity problems for over three years now. Additionally, the signal is encrypted to further enhance security. Can it be jammed? Certainly, but the likelihood is greatly reduced due to the narrow pattern of the RF signal making it much harder to detect.

Thanks. I assumed from other discussions any "wireless" connection would not be a good idea but sounds like that is not the case. Going to try to talk the board into that setup bc really no ideal place for the equipment.

What is needed on the camera end then? Is it as simple as the Nano connected to a POE switch then to the cameras?
 
That's all it takes. Just make sure you get the power supplies with the Nano. Ubiquity uses an arcane, proprietary, PoE for them.
 
Using a pair of the Ubiquiti airMAX Lite Beam, Gen 2 5AC 5GHz 23dBi CPE US for a point to point link for one remote camera. These cost $65 per unit. Two units will be necessary. These operate in the 5 GHz band.

Bench tested the unit and connected the 24 port POE network switch to one Lite Beam with 10 cameras. The other Lite Beam to the BI NIC. Used bandwidth in the range of 87 MHz.
