Suggestions for Surf Cam (PTZ with powerful 'Z')

I'm about 3 blocks from the beach and from the tippytop of my roof I can see several of the local surf spots. Would like to mount something up there (probably on the top of a pole) that can pan and zoom to see the conditions at these locations. Long zoom would be nice. Low-light not particularly important even though I'm very spoiled by my other Dahua Starlights. Suggestions?
 
Have you checked the Dahua website? It lists the available models, and gives a zoom range for each.
 
Very cool that 48X reading license plates at 1100+ feet ;)

That's a bad demo video. The person should have put the zoom value on the on-screen display so you could see the answer to your question.

I could have included a little more details with the clip... just showing the OP what the SD10A248V could do.
The car with the license plate looked like there was a little digital zoom on it and the person by the fence there was none.

Your welcome, some just don't seem realize it takes time and effort to produce these clips, edited or not.
Do you use EIS on these long shots, or do you have the cam mounted that stable?

That's simply incredible. Gives a lot of perspective for someone thinking about dropping a boatload on one of these monster PTZ zoom+zoom+zoom cameras.
