hi
i use my nvr plugged into a hdmi switch between nvr & my pc on my monitor
to change anthing in the cam i have to unplug from nvr , put 12v into cam , then plug cam into the router , log into cam via web page , then reverse all that when done !!!
is there a way to bypass this

secondly without having to buy extra software or go into html programming , how can i get the night & day profiles to keep up with the sun as the "schedule" keeps going out of sync

With an NVR the only real choice is to go in every few months and update it if you have the older GUI (black/orange/grey) that only allows one schedule.

If you have a newer GUI (blue/white), they offer a schedule by the month, so you can get a lot closer by simply taking the average sunrise/sunset for the month.

Or some of the newer GUI has a day/night button that actually works.

I use a Hikvision NVR so I can't give you the exact details... @bigredfish may know?

Yeah you don't have to do all that to get into the camera GUI.

Go to a computer and open up Internet Explorer (yeah we know but it is still there) or Pale Moon or maybe for your use Edge with IE tab open.

Type in the IP address of the NVR and login.

Go to this screen (may look different than yours depending on age of NVR) and select the Microsoft "e" icon and it will take you to the login of the camera.

Mine is grey gui - my mob wrongly shows it as blue ! has version nvr 4.0 top left
I've got the nvr IP address but it doesn't show on the modem list nor will it answer to I.explorer. I have camera list but no web page link .my nvr is in top of my thread query

Can you currently access the NVR remotely?

Is there an ethernet cable connected to the WAN/LAN port of the NVR.

What is your NVR IP address and what is the IP address subnet of your LAN?

it shows as standard 192.168.1.108:37777
yes lan cable from modem to nvr
not set up yet for mobile viewing

it has a "test" button in tcip area but it times out
seems its not showing itself to the modem

just disconnected lan lead and test button gives check your network , so it knows its connected !

So your home network is likely not 192.168.1.xxx and that is why your modem doesn't see it.

What is the IP address of the computer you are on?

Or the gateway IP address of your modem.

Whatever that is you need to change the NVR to that subnet.

It won't. It put the cameras on the 10.x.x.x subnet unless you intentionally changed them (which isn't recommended).

Does your screen show the gateway also? If so will need to change that as well.

Hit save and then try a reboot.

Right done
Can see in modem
Got login on i.e but it's saying my password etc is wrong eek
I think I set PW of nvr same as cam, 4 attempts left

I'm very confused.
On your other post:

"profile night - sun keeps setting later"

You stated you had a 5 series NVR now it's a 4 series NVR. Also the NVR 4.0 picture you posted doesn't look familiar to a standard Dahua OS (operating system). Perhaps you can clarify the points raised please?

Eek , I have 5849 cam series 5 ?
The model of the nvr is listed as DHI-NVR4104HS-P-EI

does that help
