I have a second hand 2cd4a26fwd-izs/p camera, I have hooked it up to both an NVR and a POE Switch, it powers up and you can see the infrared lights come on.

However when I load up SADP I get nothing, I have tried TFTP to no avail.

I have tried the factory reset button and that doesn't appear to work either.

My setup is fine as I have another camera that comes up straight away in SADP.

The only other option is the serial port but I don't have a cable.

Am I missing something or is it just kaput?

Does the 'link detect' LED come on at the switch or router port the camera is connected to?

Have you also tried powering it with external 12v?

That would likely provide some useful diagnostic info, and isn't hard or costly to do.

Items required are :
A USB to serial TTL adaptor, such as a PL2303TA-based device. Not an RS232 interface.
A wired 4-pin 1.5mm ZH JST connector, usually sold in 10-packs.

Thanks Alistair,

I have checked on a couple of switches and an NVR and it's pulling about 5w on POE, link lights are on.

I have managed to get some success with TFTP on 192.0.0.128 and the device pinging back on 192.0.0.64.

Device[192.0.0.64] test tftpserver

I have tried a couple of digicap.dav files, but none have taken.

That sounds promising.
The Hikvision tftp updater should still work as the firmware is under it's 32MB filesize limit.
It connects best when both PC and camera are each connected to a switch or router port, and the camera is powered by the 12v external method.
Maybe also temporarily disable the Windows firewall.

Here is another one that may be worth trying :

Thanks Alistair,

I've managed to setup Wireshark and grab some traffic:

18 8.881541 192.0.0.64 192.0.0.128 TFTP 84 Read Request, File: digicap.dav, Transfer type: octet, timeout=5, blksize=512
19 8.882507 192.0.0.128 192.0.0.64 TFTP 74 Error Code, Code: File not found, Message: File not found or No Access

The digicap.dav file is in the same folder as tftpsserv.exe and the directory is correct.

I don't have an external PSU as I've always used POE

That's weird. It should work.
Does the folder have any spaces or special characters in its name?

It was the laptop I was using, I’ve tried it at home and I get as far as Completed File transmit.

I don’t get the System Update message, but just trying the different FW’s.

Just tried one and the camera seemed stuck on 192.0.0.64, I could ping but nothing else.

Another time I tried leaving it and eventually it rebooted without confirmation of system update but then went back into uploading by tftp

When you see file send complete at tftp, shut it down, or you will end up in update loop :D. Because after update camera always reboot, and after reboot its like a power on.
