Greatings all
I have recently added security cameras to my home, due to break ins in the area, and even my mailbox being raided (Cant prove it, but one of our letters was opened in the mailbox)
I originally did some googling and came to ISpy which has worked nicely the past few weeks.
The Mrs loves the web interface where you can quickly see the motion detection clips and view the clip straight from the browser.
HOWEVER
This is where the software falls short, and I am looking for a fix
I have posted in a few groups for answers, but no one seems to want to reply to me. So I am looking for another software which will fit my needs.
What im looking for is
1) continuous recording + motion clips
As I said above the ability to quickly see where motion was triggered and what triggered it is a big plus as the mrs can easily search the cameras while im at work, and all from a easy to use GUI
But we ran into an issue the other day which as the mailbox
due to our mailbox being on a busy road (and footpath) I have had to set the motion detection back a bit to avoid false detections (shadows, dogs on walks, cars passing etc)
But because of this we cant see who opened our mailbox, we can see a detection at 2pm and 4pm, unrelated to the mailbox, and we can see the lid was moved between those times, and we know it wasnt the postie as they come early in the morning,
So the ability to have 24 hour recording and scroll though would be great,
But also having the easy to use detection reviews to quickly see who is walking up to our door as well.
2) External Triggers
This is not so much of a issue, but would be great.
Going back to the mailbox, it would be easy to install some sort of reed switch or micro button switch on the lid which triggers when its opened,
But I would need some way to attach it to the software to trigger a "Motion" capture and start that recording.
As I said above these are features that I cant seem to get working, or find help with on ISpy.
so if BlueIris has these features, I would look at buying the licence and swaping over.
Or if anyone can convince me on other features they think I would like, such as remote access.
or local access via web or similar for the Mrs to use (Not very computer smart like myself)
And Just FYI, running Windows server 2016 at home, on a dedicated security machine
(if that makes any difference)
