Swivel mount

My only other though it that the OP is wanting to create his own PTZ camera by mounting the camera on a mount that can be moved remotely by a motor and software. It is quite possible that someone makes a product like this. I know they make these types of products/mounts for "DSLR like" cameras that are used a lot in broadcast situations (a church live streaming their services for example). Google "Motorized Gimbal Mount" to see a wide variety of options.

Could be and it seems logical a noob would not be aware of the terms that would explain such with a few key terms. :cool:
And I have seen such devices albeit quite some time ago.

Along that same thought, most also don't know the structure/assembly of the turret housing and it's adjustability. That's why I went that route.

1000027164.jpgNo it's not quite so, though I'll admit an unfamiliarity with the particulars and the semantics. I have a few cameras that hit in the back when spun, the wire catches on some extruder corners that seem designed to help hold the ball of the camera into the socket, so maybe I falsely thought a camera junction might exist that might ease the problem or simplify adjustment by allowing the while things to rotate. I have them down while my soffit is being installed1000027162.jpg
 
Think the standard: pfa130-e but one that rotates so the cat6 doesn't get damaged. It seems very difficult without adjusting to see where to screw it into place only after having seen where you have freedom of movement to prevent damage. Then have to remove the whole thing to mount it going on the hope you haven't moved it too much before finally screwing it up to the soffit.
 
Take the ring off and rotate/place the ball turret to the approximate angle you want and reposition the cable around the supports that you mentioned and then put the ring back on and lightly tighten the lock screw and set final alignment and then no issue with the cable getting snagged on those supports.
