What additional improvement or features do you get going from Build Date: 2024-09-06 to Build Date: 2024-12-21 firmware?

T54IR-ZE-S3 Firmware Upgrade - new features?

I was just wondering in layman's terms what the release notes are telling me that will make my experience with this cam better.
You have been around here long enough to know if it works for your needs, don't fix what ain't broke LOL.
The first one doesn't apply to the Z3 as it doesn't have dual white/IR lighting.
The 2nd one might be valuable if you are using the loitering option. If not, then not worth it.
The 3rd one of importing images into the database sounds like it might be a way to improve triggering if it isn't triggering on AI reliably. I have not heard anyone mention this, or I forgot LOL.

Welp, I have to know if it has something useful to know if I can improve my setup. Kind of like if my refrigerator refrigerates then no need for that ice cube kit cause those plastic ice trays work just fine. I hate plastic ice trays....LOL!
I briefly saw that video of where they exclude a cat in their AI setup so that it doesn't trigger every time the neighborhood cat walks by. Seemed kind of cool and I am getting a lot of squirrel triggers. Maybe I need to exclude squirrels or hope that neighborhood cat hangs out more.
Just didn't know if there were more wiz-bangs built into the latest firmware or not.

I will trade you my ice cube kit for the plastic trays LOL. Worse mistake I made LOL. What a royal pain.

I’ve had good luck eliminating false alarms from cats and other small animals by increasing the minimum target size. The box doesn’t need to be very large, just enough to tell the camera there’s no way a human is that small.
So that 3rd option is basically used to exclude certain animals from triggering?
So if you have cats, dogs and stone martens running around the house and you want to trigger for all animals except stone martens; you can use that option for that?
It would be usefull in a slightly different way; if we could use it to create more targets; in addition to 'cars', "motor vehicle" and "animals" you could add for example "stone martens".
It would be nice to have it trigger on all animals, but only get an alert on DMSS for stone martens.

It will be interesting to see how well it learns.
We're talking about $200 cameras.
My guess is that with obvious critters and very good images fed into it, it will get a lot right.
But in a few weeks we'll have folks in here complaining it didnt recognize the difference between a squirrel and a ground hog, or a stone martin vs a bluejay

I'm trying to set up the new feature in the 5542 firmware (experience database), and following Andy's ( @EMPIRETECANDY ) video, I get to the part where it asks me to Import Videos / Search but have no videos there even after an alert (I record to BI). What do I have to enable to get those events in the Experience Database for the learning? It isn't "event Linkage" set to "record" in the AI setup page.. that didn't do it...anyone try this yet?
You need an SD card in the camera with it recorded there. I don't think you can take BI recorded video and put in to it.
Oh! That's not what I expected! (and a major pain to do... not accessible, no extra appropriate cards...) So much for that idea... thanks!
