Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

For reference, here is a mower about 40-45' away. It's 55' to the middle of the path behind him. Keep in mind he was moving at a pretty good pace, so that lowered the quality some. 4MP would be much better, but this thing also puts out so much IR compared to what a ZE, Z4E, or Z12E will. I run supplemental IR floods for all of my other cameras because other than landscaping lights around the backyard I don't have much ambient light.

Try the Z4E and hold out for a refurb ZE. If they don't work you can always deploy them elsewhere and look into one of these again. I think most of my issues are install height and nothing to reflect the IR to help light up the scene, it's just shooting into nothingness.

It looks great during the day. I have a few 2mp cameras in the back yard with the same lighting situation as the location as I was mentioning and even with the Tendelux D20 supplemental lighting, it could use more light at night.

I have a ZE in use that is mounted on the fence on a square pole with same terrible ambient lighting and it does so much better. Yeah, there is a hotspot in the middle, but I can't see the triple lens being too much different. And with the Z4E and ZE combined, there should be a good amount of IR.

I scour eBay on a regular basis for Empiretech cameras. I have never seen a used ZE, and I haven't seen a refurbished ZE on Andy's page either. So, I just purchased one new

He just had ZEs on there the other day. You may have been too slow.

One thing with the triple lens is they all adjust in unison, so you get what you get and if you want a slightly different tilt or angle adjustment up close or far away, it's not possible.

Yeah, so I'm slow

That's the other thing I like about separate cameras, the flexibility of different camera angles.

Attached is a screenshot of one of my 2mp cams at night. Exposure is 0 - 7, gain is 55. I think it could use another D20 or even a D10 on the right of the camera

Not me. Forum automatically sees certain keywords and turns them into Amazon affiliate links where the forum gets $ for purchases made from the link. When we were using it on a bunch of sites (my previous employer) I it was valid to the affiliate for ALL purchases made during that user's session, not just a single direct product

I would also set the volume to 50 and do you have the noise filter on?
Noise filter is on, and MIC is set to 100. The sound is weird on this camera, certain sounds are reproduced ok, and others seem to be filtered out. During the day when the pool pump is running, you can hear the water spill over the spa, but when the A/C kicks on, it's normal at first and then you can't hear it running. The camera that this one replaced did a great job with sound, this one seems to compress audio way too much

I kinda figured it was added by the forum
