I have tried several different computers to work with TFTP. It seems it does not want to connect to reflash the nvr. it never finds the nvr. at first it shows 127.0.0.1 BUT if i close TFTP and reopen it when nvr is on it picks up the new ip address 192.0.0.128. Any suggestions?

Is the NVR actually 100% working or have you had a bad flash?

i am reflashing lorex to hikvision. i had 4 units sitting around. 2 i reflashed last year with no problems. Now last 2 will not take the flash or will not connect. yes they are working.

Maybe they do not assume the ip of 192.0.0.64 when booting? I believe that is the one expected by the tftp process

it worked before using the 192.0.0.128.

only a few questions as i do not remember.

When you set your ipv4 to 192.0.0.128, and open TFTP will it right away show 192.0.0.128 or only after it starts booting? for me it shows 127.0.0.1 at first then if i close tftp and reopen with nvr powered up it iwll show 192.0.0.128.

You connect to the internet port or camera ports? (i have tried both)

ish.. I also see the loopback and just reboot the laptop after setting it to 192.0.0.128, could be a cache issue or need to flush the stack

I then connect the NVR to the same switch as my pc via its rj45 network port and power it on, the others are in essence a dedicated switch, so not to be used, I also disconnect all cables from them

192.0.0.64 is what the NVR uses if none is provided

Still no luck, i have tried 3 different computers. Fresh install of XP SP3. Still nothing. I was thinking if anyone knows the root password for the lorex nvr's I can try to telnet into it and force the flash file.

using regular cat5 cable connected into the LAN port on NVR. Windows detects the device, shows connection between the computer and nvr.

before it work for me too. after 2017...or the newer model. it will not flash unless you use putty and serial cable.

Do you have the NVR connected directly to the computer? I have never been able to get that to work. I always use a switch between the computer and NVR. Worth a try
