the go-to model for pentabrid XVR?

greetings, my friend has 7 digital watchdog 960h analog cameras and is looking to upgrade his DVR so he can keep the existing cameras and add some ip cameras and maybe hdcvi as well on some of the coax runs.

i'm just wondering what is the go-to model for a dahua pentabrid XVR.?

will the analog cameras look at least just as good or better as how they were on his original digital watchdog dvr?

We've sold hundreds of these units with absolutely no issues at all. It will do 8 on the coax side and 8 on the IP side. Also does SMD (Smart Motion Detection) on 4 channels max (no ip channels can be used to take advantage of SMD). In terms of the cameras looking better on a new recorder no they will look exactly the same.
