Thermal Grackles in the backyad. Added more T-Birds!

Does your bf5421 make mechanical sounds from time to time when it is running?
Thermal image freezes when sound is emitted.

I'm seeing the 5421 for sub $250 on eBay used. Would you recommend it at this price presuming it's fully functional?

I pulled the trigger for one that was 199. Figured it can't be THAT bad. I really just need it to spot coyotes and other predators around my coop. First toe dip into the thermal IP camera pool. I use my thermal scope to pop them regularly so getting a better heads up with this ought to increase my success

It arrived today and I installed it immediately to view the ingress for most predators. It's only been up for a couple of daylight hours, but I am very impressed. I didn't like the fact that it takes up two BI camera slots, and was happy to see that it does picture-in-picture, overlaying a thermal image over the optical image. Unfortunately, that PIP doesn't work for the substream - which is what plays in any of the grouped views on BI. But that's a small price to pay when your hitting up against the 64 camera limit.8 - behind condo 2024-06-29 05.38.18.843 PM.jpg

Man, I am so glad I went with this. I've always wanted to know what the hottest part of my Mastiff was ;)
I'll bet if your mastiff took a dump you'd see what the hottest part is! :lmao:
