Thoughts on new AMD Ryzen processor for Blue Iris System

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has used one of the new AMD Ryzen processors in their blue iris system and how did it perform?

I am looking at building a system to support 30-40 4mp Dahua cameras. Link to processor below: Cheers

Bad idea..you want an intel system with quicksync...
you will have a hard time running 30-40 4mp cams...
consider 1080p starlights, they are much better at low light..see the dahua section.

Yea thanks mate, just found that info so will scrap the AMD and go with intel.

I'm curious as to why not. AMD has support for the VCE engine which is similar to QuickSync. Any reason why Blue Iris couldn't support it?

It just doesnt...same reason why no other vms supports it...not enough user base...amd is way behind intel in efficiency which makes a huge difference in an always on system.
