Anytime I had a checker on my property, I'd call the local non-emergency number to find out if any vehicle burglaries were reported on my street. Never failed - if they were caught on my cameras, someone on my street got hit. It became such a joke among the neighbors, when it'd happen, the rest of us would do a forehead slap... It is an indictment on society when we find as much fault with the vehicle owner for not locking their doors, as we do with the perps committing the crime. I had it happen once to my first vehicle as a teenager. And it was locked. They broke a window to get my stereo. I think that may have been the seed that was planted, and why I now have an OCD-like addiction to cameras. Now all vehicles are rigged to lock within seconds of leaving.
