Hello everyone,
So I have the injector from the kit (Power over Ethernet Adapter Kit - TP-Link) and I have a temporary situation where I need to provide POE to a Dahua camera while I wait for another POE switch. Despite many attempts I was unable to wire the house and fish ethernet cable in such a way that I could run all cameras from the same physical switch.
Is it safe to use the injector even though it doesn't comply with 802.11af? It seems to be more of a passive solution (?) and not negotiated. I did however at one point use it to power one of those fancy Cisco access points and that thing did power up with no ill effects. But I don't know what sort of safe guards Cisco has built into their hardware.
