Turret camera mic question

Hi will it matter if the mic on a turret camera is facing up towards the top?

no problem, but the voice quality will have a little effect, no big difference.

Be sure to turn the noise filter off in the cameras audio settings.

No difference pointing up or down, but its more directive than I thought it would be, strange though.
And as Looneytoons said, important to turn off noise reduction as it gets very distorted with that on !

Ok just turned it around so mic is at the bottom and now the memory card slot is as well so its now upside down. The up indicator is now at the bottom. This is weird .These are 2 new hilook ipct260h-mu cameras purchased from a cctv supplier here in oz and both are facing the same way. Have they been put together wrong?

Just pulled on down and i cannot change them around. Mic must have to go at the top on these . All photos i have searched on the net show this camera to have the mic in the wrong location as it is where the memory card goes.
