Update camera firmware by NVR

Hello

Sorry is this question has already post, i've search but not found.

I've seen that thru NVR gui, it is possible to update cameras, but how does it work and also
witch version of firmware ? latest or .... ?

My NVR is DS-7616NI-E2/8P V3.3.1 build 150422
and first cam in red circle is a chinese DS-2CD2432F-IW V5.2.5 build 141201 but with V5.2.8 on sticker.

I strongly suggest you not upgrade. Is there a reason you need to, or just because the NVR says an upgrade is available?

My experience upgrading firmware, as well as many others, has been terrible.

Download the latest firmware, extract it to your USB stick and plug it in your NVR.

When you click the upgrade icon it lets you browse your stick for the correct file.

Just be aware that all the firmware files have the same name. If you want to put NVR and camera firmware on the same stick then make folders for each file.

Excellent points by hereu - especially on the firmware files, regardless of the version, they have the exact same name. So be very careful selecting the file!
