Updated Linux Mint Chrome to Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) yesterday, and today it no longer displays video from my hdw2231 in any windows that it should. All else from the camera displays fine. Anyone else having a problem? RTSP to VLC is still good.

Not sure about linux but chrome does not support plugins. Chrome was not shown IP camera video for a long time on windows and android. You can try another browser like palemoon 32 if it runs on linux. Firefox also does not support camera video.

If you have windows use internet explorer.

Chrome with NACL has been working fine for me until today. Tried windows with IE everything works.

It still works for me on windows with chrome 71.0.3578.98
NACL Web Plug-in

Try switching a cam to h.264
Already set to h.264. With windows 7, Chrome (Version 71.0.3578.98) or Chromuim on Linux Mint with NACL both will freeze at the login screen after entering the login stuff. It appears that the logins actually happen, when I login with IE I see the other logins still on line. I tried rebooting and set to defaults, no difference. This is my only cam, ordered it direct from Andy a month ago. Just getting started :) Super cam and service from Andy as everyone have been saying! It all started today, been running flawlessly for 3 weeks. Strange.

This "plugin" is really just a chrome app that runs in its own window which provides a minimal browser interface which you are supposed to load the camera's web interface in. If you connect to the camera outside of the NACL Web Plug-in window then you won't be able to use the video player component but everything else in the camera's web interface should still work.

@looney2ns is right, if you uninstall the plugin, clear the browser cache, and re-install the plugin (from the link @tangent provided) then everything should be re-initialized. Of course there's also the possiblity that NACL is legitimately broken on the Linux version of Chrome, but not on the Windows version.

Good ideas here. Tried all the above. Unfortunately nothing has changed. I logged in without NACL and about the same thing happens except it tells you to install the plugin. At least I can still make changes. Thanks for all the help so far!

Try using SmartPSS with wine for Linux.

Until Dahua sorts out the web interface to work with modern browsers this is the best way I found with Linux.

I had issues with the NACL plug-in when setting up IVS.

Good idea, but SmartPSS wouldn't find the camera. I upgraded to Mint 19 a few months back and been having some other small issues, so I reverted back to 17.3 and now NACL is working again! Back to playing with cameras and such.
Thanks!

Older post but FYI: Linux Mint 19.1 + Chrome Version 73.0.3683.75 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit) + NACL Web Plug-in works for me with my SD49225T-HN. Mint Chromium does not work.
