Hi - sorry, me again...

I've got a DS-7716NI-I4/16P, that in the middle of a bad firmware upgrade (I jumped too many versions at once) I somehow lost all connectivity to the cameras.

Is there a way to just plug these cameras directly into a switch, not the NVR and do a hard reset on them? If they were easy to reach I'd get up on a ladder, but these things are seriously up there, to the point where it gets dangerous to get to them as a one man show..

When I plug them into the NRV, both lights on the NVR Poe ports light up...

I have run many different scanning tools, including HVisions stuff and others. yes, I have changed my ip and both plugged a laptop directly into the NRV and the NVR is plugged directly into the only switch in the system.

No matter what, 7 out of 8 cameras refuse to ping, or show up in any tool. However, they do have both lights on and the IR leds are lit up at night..

If pushing the button on these things in the only way, then so be it.. will have to get a crew out here to do it.

For the one camera that did not seem to "brick" during the firmware upgrade to the NVR, I am able to directly login to it and all that good stuff.

All cameras are the same model "DS-2CD2332-I" and as far as I am aware they all have the same password.. throughout the upgrade to the firmware process they were all showing, until I did the final upgrade to the firmware using the Python2 software.. that was when most of them dropped off, never to be seen again.

This is a bit of a puzzle - it's not obvious to me what's happened to hide the cameras.

Yes, if you have a 12v power supply that fits the camera.

I have run many different scanning tools, including HVisions stuff and others.
Hikvision's SADP tool is pretty good at finding Hikvision devices on the same wiring as the PC, and doesn't require the PC IP address to be in the same range as that used by the cameras. And once found, given a valid admin password, the camera IP address can be changed.
But we know you've used this and the cameras don't show up, despite apparently being powered by the NVR.

When you say 'directly login', could you clarify? Presumably the camera is connected to an NVR PoE port, the PC is on the LAN, as is the LAN port of the NVR.
If so, the camera isn't directly accessible, only by using the 'Virtual Host' NVR feature.

Something to test out :
In the NVR web GUI, under 'Camera Management' can you confirm that the IP addresses assigned to the channels are in the 192.168.254.x address range?
With the cameras connected to the NVR PoE ports, and the NVR having been powered on for 5 minutes or so to allow the cameras time to boot up -
Click the 'Quick add' button in the NVR web GUI Camera Management page, wait a minute or so and see what comes up.
