Seeing all the problems with voting today, I hope you were able to vote successfully.
My polling station opened 20 minutes late due to "technical issues" I call bullshit. I was the 7th person on line; however four individuals in front of me left because they lost patience and had to go to work.
Then the drama unfolded when I went to electronically submit my ballot; the machine "WOULD NOT" read my ballot despite filling out the ballot correctly;
The technician from the BOE that manages the ballot scanners and supervisor of the polling site approached me; one tried to mislead me in terms of how to fill out the ballot and the other person (the supervisor) was certain that I filled out the ballot correctly. Then this problem occurred to others nearby as well. Instead of escalating the problem even further, I went to a DIFFERENT ballot scanner and after 2 unsuccessful attempts; third time was a charm. Poll workers had a feeling who I was voting for; they clearly did not want my ballot to be scanned. WITH PERSISTENCE, I was able to get the machine to scan my ballots. I walked out patting myself on the back for a job well done; a Republican poll worker walked with me outside the building and apologized for the frustration that other poll workers were giving me but thanked me for exercising my right to vote; he knew where I was coming from and told me to have some faith in the voting process; he unzippered his fleece and he revealed that he favored the Republican party just like I did; I told him, we are in this together.
Sadly, who knows how many voters were deterred and/or discouraged from voting today due to all the technical woes
What worries me is that my ID was never checked; I only signed my first name; my signature was not verified; I took note of all the flaws in the voting process.
Was it meant be rigged and manipulated? The complaints go on; despite being from a blue state,
I am certain that something will change tonight. Already the numbers are coming in and Trump is taking the lead!
