US Elections (& Politics) :)

I was thinking about these past several months today. Especially how the Dems picked Harris after they forced Biden out. No primary, no votes for her. Just appointed by the Dem leadership.

What if the first assassination attempt on Trump had not failed? Whay if he had been killed? How would that have been handled by the Republican leadership? Since Vance was already selected as VP running mate, would they just have had him run against Harris? Would he have won? Would they take the person who performed second best in the primaries? Would they have held new primaries?

Who do you think would have been the Republican candidate and do you think they would have won?

If Trump was to die before he is inaugurated, what is the procedure? Who would become the President? I imagine that would be the VP, but I am not sure.

Crazy, I was just talking to the wife about the same thing less than an hour ago. I questioned, does Vance become president, Trump is President Elect...Vance is V.P., right? Another question could a President Elect change V.Ps before inauguration day?

Maybe this was in our heads since the wife is watching "Treason" series on Netflix, lol

it would have been different for sure. While I think the GOP would have run Vance, I wouldnt give him good odds at beating the fake media machine behind Harris. I think many Republican voters might have just stayed home.

I think now, if Trump were to be taken out, Vance would take his place and frankly I think he'd do well and most of the same things Trump would have done. That said, Im not sure the momentum would be there to carry through 2028

What happens if a presidential candidate cannot take office due to death or incapacitation before January 2025?

Finally, what if the president-elect dies or is incapacitated after the electoral college meets and before the inauguration? The authors of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, the one adopted to provide for a way to pick a new vice president, thought of this. If the president-elect dies or is incapacitated the vice president is inaugurated. Section 3 of the 20th Amendment reads:

“If, at the time fixed for the beginning of the term of the President, the President elect shall have died, the Vice President elect shall become President.”

This is where the “Dark Brandon” theory starts to line up.

The Biden’s are pissed about the Ceaseresque takedown. Screw over the convention selection by throwing for Kamala.

Does a few things like don the hat. But it kinda explains why she wouldn’t/couldn’t distance herself from Biden’s actions in office. Gotta maintain the fealty.

And no respect for Kamala, she’s the “useful idiot” for all sides. But she made out alright. Minimum 10% of the purchase of the ad buys goes into the personal coffers. Even at 1/2 Billion, she makes a killing.

Vance was not yet selected at time of the first assasination, at least he wasn't announced yet. Trumps first attempt took place before the GOP convention.
At that time polls conducted on X has to whom should be the VP, Vance was leading only when Vivek was not included and when Vivek was included in the polls he was leading comfortably, by all others contenders including vance combined.

But thats irrelevant what the public wants, it's what the donars wanted they wanted Nikki Haley, she had a second biggest delegates.

Even for the VP pick JD Vance donars played a role. David sacks mentioned that Pay Pal founder Peter Thiel who donated big to Trump campaign wanted JD vance who worked for him and also funded JD Vance Senate campaign. Peter Thiel also has defense contracts. So JD would have been a perfect Yes Man candidate.

Elon Musk who is also co founder of Pay Pal and Peter Thiel friend, during the Republican primaries and even before the Iowa primary made a post on X that Vivek should be the VP. When the media including Fox was giving the Ron Paul treatment to Vivek (like he doesn't exist), Elon Musk started retweeting the polls on X where Vivek was leading second only to Trump and also calling out the MSM.

After the Iowa caucus Vivek the same night endorsed Trump and he was mentioned by Trump in multiple rallies. But sometime after the first meeting of Peter Theil in March with other wealthy investors in Bay area with Trump this changed, Trump Jr who is Trump son started X posts supporting JD Vance and Musk remained silent.

Peter Thiel knows Vivek too, since he has invested in Vivek asset management firm Strive, which is a anti woke, anti DEI competitor to Blackrock.

Vivek has also invested in Elon Musk, SpaceX. But they only met after the primaries.

So it could have been Nikki Haley prefered candidate of Left donars and has the second highest delegates, JD has support of right donars(but zero delegates). But if its a was a public poll, Vivek would have gotten it (7 delegates).

My wife and I watched Reagan today. What an incredible movie!

We believe Trump will be as transformative as Reagan, maybe even more so.
Yes, GREAT movie, the wife and I loved it...Even though Reagan had a calm sounding voice, he was a very Strong President. Trump is the same way, rarely do you see Trump raise his voice. Both are/were strong/great negotiators. Trump's edge is his business suave. I agree with your assessment of Trump's transformation. Even though it seems to be a slight change, he has matured a lot since his first term.

Trump's first term was entertaining; even gave Kim Jong Un a run for his tummy.

Hard to forget. Reagan had one major misstep that allowed amnesty to people who crossed illegally and then which led to these illegals getting all their relatives into the country. He'd have been batting 1000% if he'd had not done this deed.

It is just not right to forgive breaking the law of crossing the border illegally in this modern age of population expansion. Cross legally fine.
