US Elections (& Politics) :)

I'm not even close to convinced, but the Snopes article actually does the opposite for me. If Snopes thinks its fake, it has a better than 50/50 chance of being true. They're like the Jim Cramer of fact checking ;)

Some of the points they make in that article are blatantly wrong

That was before we HAD dirt ;)
Dust, we came from Dust. ;)

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 NKJV

Haha, I keep telling the wife to leave the dust alone, haha

I have twice, but it was 100 years ago
LOL!
The last time I was in DC.
I was 12 on a shool 6th grade trip.

I met Congressman James Florio. And I have a picture with him.

Roll forward years later when Florio became the Governor of New Jersey. He fucked us just like every governor since then.
(He was the first to tax TP for the...).

Guess you have never been to 'DC'? I would bet its even higher....
Been awhile for me. Used to go into DC to play tourist when I worked at Ft. Meade. I enjoyed the gubermint tourist stuff. And GD it's hot there on July 4th.

Can't say I have been, nor is it on my bucket list. If I want to see a trash city I will go to Mexico City...it probably is nicer than DC.

My first trip was 1966-‘67 with my folks and brother. It was a family vacation but for Dad and me, avid Civil War buffs, it was an excuse to visit Gettysburg, Antietam, Harper’s Ferry. DC still held a measure of awe and beauty. Bigger than life. Saw all of the major attractions, loved the Smithsonian, spent 2 days there.
I remember the following year Mom demanded we go to Ocean City

Second time was 25 years later for a conference. Didn’t do all of the touristy things that time, Reagan was gone, wasn’t into politics like I am now. But there was a noticeable difference. The magic was gone.

Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg threatens to release MORE war plans texts after being included in group chat

This guy must not have any brains. If he releases the "war plans" and they include classified info, he should be punished as a traitor. If there isn't any classified info, he outed himself as a liar. It's that simple, isn't it?

There was no classified material in the first batch. IMHO it was a big nothing burger. Of course, the Democrats are blowing it all out of proportion. Yes, Goldberg should not have been included on that email, and we need to find out exactly how it happened.

I think he has the goods.
I’m not defending him, he’s scum, but I dont think he’s lying

Meanwhile …

For those who likely don’t know (which is expected):

That is Pierre Pollivere (PP), federal leader of the Conservative Party. Canada is in the midst of an election campaign, with voting on April 28. Our elections are shorter and much more erraticly timed than US ones.

While probably somewhere around JFK or a bit left of that, he’s Canada’s only alternative to the very progressive policies of the last ten years. Which Carney had a solid hand in, and has kept most of the top people for his leadership strategy. Both elected and unelected.

Unfortunately, it’s a rushed election because Carney’s “new” shine is already wearing off, and everything Trump’s doing is driving support towards the Liberals. Whether he’s doing it intentionally or not.

PP is being framed as Trump light and anything else they hope will stick. Polls are heavily biased, most media needs PP to lose so they keep getting government media, etc. etc.
