More than 50 countries have contacted White House to start trade talks, Trump adviser says

More than 50 countries have reached out to the White House to begin trade negotiations, US National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said on ABC News on Sunday.

Hassett also denied that US President Donald Trump's tariffs were an indirect means to pressure the central bank to cut interest rates In a separate interview on NBC News, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent downplayed the stock market drop since Trump announced the tariffs and said there was "no reason" to anticipate a recession based on the tariffs.

Like so many other things, this was a few days ago and I'd bet we never hear about it again...

EDIT: adding some more...

Update on April 3rd-- they filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration... look at the list of Defendants... LOL. I think Discovery should be a fun time in that case. FAFO!! :)

Just a note on the latest economic news (honestly that translates to “but my 401K”) that so many seem to be freaked out about.

I don’t normally quote catturd because he’s a paid shill, but I think he’s pretty close on this one ..

And…

I just started reading a novel today and the opening sentence sounded so true - "Like most forms of corruption, it began with men in suits."

A large portion of the Trump "protestors" are paid liberal activists.
A large portion of them are close to or already retired, and aren't very good with investing. Its easy when it goes up. I can train a monkey to do that.
The Market is down, beginning a long delayed inevitable bubble pop.
It's convenient to blame it all on the new tariffs. But Anyone who actually follows the markets, or understands about 30% or less of the tariff issue (Like me), knows this is an excuse not the catalyst

What you're seeing/hearing is shortsighted and stupid investors. If you're retired or very close and are still heavily in the market you either
A) are a fucking idiot or
B) have enough money to burn and/or plan on living long enough for a downturn not to matter

“the stock market is going down, and I don’t like the way that makes me feel".

She probably has the ability to do better but to me it seems intentional. If I painted it I think even my friend and family would say nice try for an amateur but is there a reason I painted him with such a fat face. Obama's might be better but probably still lacking so maybe she's not that great.

Seems like he had gained a bit of weight back then LOL

Dan Bongino with an 'interesting' statement

Your comments and criticisms are not only welcome, but they’re helpful. We work for you, the American people.
Your feedback is invaluable. All I ask is that you consider the following feedback to the feedback. When you see something happen, and the entire story isn’t public, and the underlying facts aren’t all public, it may appear counterintuitive to our reform agenda.
I promise you, it’s not an accident.
Ask yourself, why I would sign on to something like this otherwise. Is it a desire to be wealthy, famous, “connected,” or to be a future lobbyist? If that sounds ridiculous, it’s because it is.
I realized when I signed up that I’d never be able to fully explain some decisions we make due to legal and ethical constraints. But that’s a pill I agreed to swallow when I swore in.
In conclusion, I realize asking you to “trust me” is a waste of time. Watch what happens, continue to demand results, be cautious of narrative “traps,” let time put the puzzle pieces together, and what we’re doing will make sense. I see and hear you and your feedback. Thanks for your time.
